Well I thought this would be a great time to tell you that today (April 21) is the 49th anniversary of the World's Fair that made Seattle a memorable city. I am a huge fan of World's fairs, mostly Century 21 (Seattle). The World's Fair was held at what is now Seattle Center. The 28 acre land held the Space Needle, Science Pavilion (Pacific Science Center), Coliseum (Key Arena), just to name a few.
The thing I absolutely love about this World's Fair is that all they wanted to know is what the future would hold. Being in the 21st century, I believe that we have not accomplished the things of which we should have with transportation, architecture, design, fashion, and making the world what it should be. Sure, they introduced the push-button phone to us and architectural style that we would see for a few remaining years and now it seems that we have thrown all of the ideas of what the future should be in the garbage. All of the hard work of the men and women have created has all been overlooked. I think that if we would have played our cards right, that electric cars would have been not such a new thing and would have foreign oil. Think of the Monorail, that could have been our transportation for around this country. I wish that the world was more simple than how it was back in the day. So remember this day as Seattle history!
Oh by the way, I will be volunteer at the 50th anniversary of the World's Fair so come on over and take a part of history. Maybe you could volunteer as well!!

Well as you all know, I went to Leavenworth last weekend and we stopped at an antique store with a lot of great items from the World's Fair (which I am obsessed with) and little things here and there. There were a few things that I loved, such as a metal bread box with Tiffany's Blue sides. From all of the stuff I saw, the one thing that made my favorites list for this week is:

Last weekend, my family and I took a day trip over across the mountains to go into Leavenworth.

So to begin the year I thought it may be fun to write about birthstones. Each month I will write about a picture of a room that I found to be a clear representation of the colors. Finding rooms that are garnet (Red) is really hard task to accomplish. I looked the other direction and went with an accent color to be the focal point. Here is this months picture.
